Day 01 : Goa – Dharamshala

 

Flight from Goa to Dharamshala.
On arrival in Dharamshala, proceed to the designated baggage claim area to collect your luggage and proceed to the EXIT Gate of the arrival terminal where you will be met and assisted by your representative Who will be holding a paging board
The representative will meet and assist you and transfer you to Hotel.
Check into your Hotel. (Early Check In has been requested for, which is subject to availability).
Note: Please coordinate with driver for doing the following sightseeing of Dalai Lama Temple complex – Bhagsunath Temple – Bhagsunag waterfall. (Vehicle for use till 6 p.m.)

 

Dalai Lama Temple complex

 

Replete with Tibetan culture, the Dalai Lama Temple, also known as Tsuglakhang Temple, is a politico-religious centre in Dharamsala. Ideal for peaceful meditation and religious rumination, the temple is full of lamas at all points of the day chanting on prayer wheels or beads. The majestic temple is in close vicinity to the abode of Dalai Lama and is frequently visited by him to preach and conduct prayer meets. Popular for its beautiful setting, the temple complex has become a revered pilgrimage site for the Buddhists.

 

Bhagsunath Temple

 

A medieval shrine, Bhagsunath is Shiva Temple situated about 3kms from Mcleodganj. The temple has been highly revered by the Hindus and the Gorkha Community. The sacred shrine is famed for its two pools that are believed to have healing properties.
The best time to visit Bhagsunath Temple is during the annual fair that takes place here in the month of September. The Dal Lake, Kotwali Bazaar and Bhagsu Fall are the main attractions around this holy shrine.

 

Bhagsunag Waterfall

 

AThe Bhagsu Waterfall is perhaps the most famous tourist spot in Dharamshala and attracts tourists who wish to revel in the glories of nature and spend some quiet moments in peace and serenity. The Bhagsunag Waterfall is located on the main road which connects Mcleodganj and Dharamshala and is an ideal location for picnicking with family and loved ones. The prime attraction here is the famous Bhagsunath Temple. The waterfall starts at the base of the Dhauladhar Valley, which is also considered to be a religious spot. Before cascading down, the stream also passes through the famous Bhagsunath Temple. The Bhagsu Fall reaches the peak of its glory and majesty during the monsoon season when the water falls from a height of around 30 feet and looks captivating and breathtakingly beautiful.

Day 02 : Dharamshala

 

Breakfast at Hotel.
10:00am – Sightseeing in Dharamshala – Namgyalma Stupa – Norbulingka Institute – Cricket stadium. Driver will assist – No Guide Services.

 

Namgyalma Stupa

 

At a distance of 3 km from Dharamshala and 6 km from McLeod Ganj, Namgyalma Stupa is an old Buddhist structure situated at Uparli Barol. Namgyalma Stupa is a dome-shaped construction that contains the remains of Buddha, which the Tibetans consider to be a sacred place of worship. It holds a huge shrine of Sakyamuni Buddha. The Namgyalma Stupa was constructed in the remembrance of the Tibetan soldiers who fought for the freedom of Tibet. This structure is similar in design to the structure built during the 3rd century BC by King Ashoka. The Namgyalma Stupa is carved from sandstone and is made with a vision of being long-lasting. It is a belief among Tibetans that anything that falls on the Namgyalma Stupa gets purified. Some believe that rain water falling on the Stupa is blessed. It is also believed that a visit to the Namgyalma Stupa cleanses any bad karma that exists in the soul. The Stupa is surrounded by a number of prayer wheels. Tibetans who visit the Stupa for worship circle it rotating the wheels and reciting prayers.

 

Norbulingka Institute

 

Norbulingka Institute, founded in 1995 by Kelsang and Kim Yeshi at Sidhpur, near Dharamshala, India, is dedicated to the preservation of the Tibetan culture in its literary and artistic forms. The institute is named after Norbulingka, the traditional summer residence of the Dalai Lamas, in Lhasa, Tibet. The ground plan is based on the proportions of Avalokitesvara, the thousand-armed god of compassion, with the temple as the head. Day 03 : Dharamshala – Amritsar(5 Hrs)

10:00am – Drive from Dharamshala to Amritsar
Sightseeing (OPTIONAL) : Visit Sadda Pind – which is on route to Amritsar. (Entry fees to be paid directly – Approx Rs 850 PP includes lunch and a few other cultural activities in the Village complex)

Golden Temple

 

The Golden Temple Amritsar India (Sri Harimandir Sahib Amritsar) is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace and religious fulfillment without any hindrance. It also represents the distinct identity, glory and heritage of the Sikhs.

 

Jallianwala Bagh

 

Jallianwala Bagh is a historic garden and memorial of national importance close to the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, Punjab, India, preserved in the memory of those wounded and killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that took place on the site on the festival of Baisakhi, 13 April 1919. The 7-acre site houses a museum, gallery and several memorial structures. It is managed by the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust.

 

Partition Museum

 

The Partition Museum is a public museum located in the town hall of Amritsar, Punjab, India. The museum aims to become the central repository of stories, materials, and documents related to the post-partition riots that followed the division of British India into two independent dominions: India and Pakistan.
1530 Hrs. – Visit to Attari Border (India) / Wagah Border (Pakistan) to witness closing of the border Gate Ceremony and return back to hotel. The flag lowering ceremony starts at 5:15pm (and lasts around one hour), but you should be there in advance.
Gates open at 4:15 at the Pakistan border. Timings vary due to Winter schedules.

 

Attari–Wagah border

 

The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Attari–Wagah border is a daily CAPF practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan have jointly followed since 1959. The drill is characterized by elaborate and rapid dance-like manoeuvres and raising legs as high as possible, which have been described as “colourful”.

12:00 Noon Departure transfer to Amritsar Airport for flight back to Goa.
